About The Back Yard

The Back Yard is our hip, seasonal new gathering place. Did we mention free admission?!? While you are chatting around the fire pit or playing corn hole with the kids, you might learn about our latest class offerings. While sipping something cold and delicious, you might hear some groovy music by one of our favorite locals during an open mic. Want to hear about how to volunteer? Or tour the campus with our Executive Director? We have that too! Come to the Back Yard and find out just why Cotuit Center for the Arts continues to be a leader in promoting arts and culture, educational opportunities, and community engagement in the arts on the Cape. We can’t wait to hang out in the Back Yard with you!

Weather Policy for Outdoor Events

We love hosting events under the open sky — but unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn’t always RSVP. If the forecast looks too wet, wild, or windy, we may have to cancel.

There’s no shelter in the backyard (umbrellas don’t count), so for everyone’s comfort and safety, we’ll make a final call by 12 noon on the day of the event. If we need to cancel, we’ll post a notice right here on the website. If the skies are looking questionable, check the website.
