The Man from Earth Auditions

Directed by Bob Bock

Synopsis:
A group of university professors gather for a going away party as one of the
group has unexpectantly resigned. As they try to get him to explain why he
is doing this, a hypothetical situation is put forth. As they have done on
other occasions, they proceed to discuss this hypothetical each from their
own disciplines. Within a short time the topic ceases to be hypothetical.
How each reacts and the consequences make up the rest of the play.

Cast of Characters:
John Oldman: 35ish, history professor. (Note this role has been cast)
Dan: 60ish, professor of anthropology
Harry: 50’s, professor of biology
Edith: 50’s, art history professor
Sandy: late 20’s, Oldman’s grad student/assistant
Art: 50’s but holding desperately onto youth, archeology professor.
Linda: early 20’s, wide-eyed yet very smart student.
Will Gruber: Mid 70’s, Physician and Psychiatry professor
