Press Release: A Kite at the Disco!
Jun. 17, 2021 / Press ReleaseCotuit Center for the Arts is participating in the Cotuit Kite Festival! After a year of being cooped up indoors, we are looking forward to getting out and celebrating with family and friends. We’re excited to join this village-wide celebration of colorful kites alongside our fellow Cotuit organizations: the Cotuit Library, the Cahoon Museum, the Cotuit-Santuit Civic Association, the Cotuit Federated Church, and the Barnstable Land Trust.
The week preceding 4th of July holiday weekend, we will decorate the main theater with kites hanging from the rafters. Think John Travolta on a kite. Think mylar glittering tails. Then the community can get in on the action as well. On Saturday evening at 7:30pm our DJ will be spinning the greatest hits of the disco era as patrons with proof of vaccination gather to dance the night away, and boy do we need it. Here’s the best part—admission is FREE to those who bring a kite! We’ll hang all the kites around the balcony in the theater and Fly, Robin, Fly. We look forward to promoting our partners’ events and will bring awareness to the Cotuit Library’s new kite lending program.
