Press Release: Brazen Belles Summer Striptacular with Mr. Gorgeous and Kitten N’ Lou at Cotuit Center for the Arts

The Brazen Belles return to Cotuit Center for the Arts August 22-25 with their new show, Brazen Belles Summer Striptacular. Performances are at 7:30 PM.

One of New England’s premiere Burlesque troupes, the Brazen Belles have been described as dangerous flirts, rowdy rabble-rousers, and saucy comediennes who have been teasing their way around the country to sold-out crowds since 2012.

The Brazen Belles were the winners of the Las Vegas Burlesque Festival in 2015, they also performed at the Burlesque Hall of Fame’s “Movers, Shakers, and Innovators” showcase in 2016. The Belles bring a variety of talents--singing, dancing, wit, sass, and seduction—to the stage.

Their racy costumes—corsets and eye-catching lingerie—attract attention, but the troupe’s chorus line kicks, slapstick antics, physical comedy skits, and sultry dance moves will have the audience laughing, lusting, and longing for more.

The Summer Striptacular features three internationally acclaimed performers: Mr. Gorgeous and Kitten N’ Lou.

Combining circus, comedy, and charisma, Mr. Gorgeous amuses audiences of all types with his light-hearted approach to contemporary burlesque. Standing 6 feet, 5 inches tall, he has been described as “a pure spectacle of foolishness and mayhem in the best possible sense.”

Mr. Gorgeous is frequently seen in iconic New York venues, including The Slipper Room, Le Scandal, and Galapagos Art Space. He was awarded “Most Comedic “at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas in 2013, “Mr. Exotic World - King of Boylesque in 2014, and many other honors.

Known for their signature brand of highly choreographed comedic camp extravaganzas, Kitten N’ Lou were voted the No. 1 Burlesque Duo in the World in 2015 and in the Top 10 “Most Influential Performers of the Decade” by 21^st Century Burlesque. This “camp, show-stopping couple” (UK Daily Mail) uses burlesque, drag, dance, and theater to create performances that have been described as “the wacky love child of vaudeville and club drag” (Australian Stage 2016), “polished, clever, and glamorous” (Dita Von Teese), and “GENIUS” (The Huffington Post).

Since joining forces as “The World’s Show-Busiest Couple” both on and offstage, Kitten N’ Lou have garnered awards and accolades around the globe, including Lou’s recent crowning as 2017’s Mr. Exotic World, Reigning King of Boylesque and Most Comedic Duo at the 2014 Burlesque Hall of Fame. They have been honored as 2014 Artists of the Year by City Arts Magazine, and funded with grants from such entities as 4Culture. Kitten N’ Lou recently made their television debut with Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett on the PBS Great Performances special “Cheek to Cheek.”
