Press Release: Cotuit Center for the Arts Goes Italian
Aug. 16, 2018 / Press ReleaseCotuit Center for the Arts is extremely pleased to announce that certified language instructor and professional museum guide, Marilyn Rossi, will be teaching both Art History and Italian at the center this Fall.
Rossi will teach Art History with Marilyn: the Renaissance (adults) on Tuesdays from 2pm-4:30pm, September 11 to October 16.
In this course, new at Cotuit Center for the Arts, students will begin by re-examining familiar artists such as Michelangelo and other Renaissance Masters but toward the end of the six-week series, they will wind back to the origins of Western art. On November 29, the class will travel to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston to visit the parts of their collection that will enhance their studies and discussions.
Rossi will also teach Italian for Beginners (adults) on Thursdays from 2pm to 4:30pm, September 6 to October 18. Speakers of all abilities are welcome in the classroom and will receive individual attention in a gentle, informative and fun small-class environment.
As an added bonus, on November 29, students will join Rossi’s Art History students and travel to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Students are required to purchase a single textbook for less than $20 in order to participate in the class.
Marilyn Rossi is an experienced foreign-language educator (Italian, Latin, Greek), translator, art historian, and museum tour guide. She was awarded both a Fulbright Scholarship and a Rockefeller Fellowship to study Italian in Umbria, and received the Grinspoon Foundation Teacher Award for excellence in teaching. We are thrilled she has joined us at the Center!
