Press Release: For the Love of Arts and Animals Cocktail Party at Cotuit Center for the Arts
Aug. 23, 2019 / Press ReleaseCotuit Center for the Arts will host For the Love of Arts and Animals, a cocktail party, on Tuesday, September 24, from 5 to 7 PM. The event is a fundraiser for the Center and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) of Cape Cod.
Celebrity guests and other engaging Cape Codders featured in the acclaimed book, “I Am of Cape Cod,” will be there, including Tedi Marsh, songwriter, singers, actress, and musician; Jung Ho Pak, artistic director and conductor of the Cape Symphony, and Carter Luke, chief executive officer and leading spokesperson for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MMSPCA).
Written by John Whelan, with photographs by Kim Roderiques, both of whom will also be on hand, “I Am of Cape Cod: People and Their Stories” celebrates the people who live on Cape Cod, the fisherman, artists, farmers, entrepreneurs, environmental activists, writers, and others, both natives and washashores, who give Cape Cod its particular character.
Whelan and Roderiques interviewed and photographed 139 individuals in all 15 towns to present a cross-section of Cape Codders—every type, size, age, and lifestyle—and the special bond they feel to the region. A selection of images by Roderiques will be on view.
Refreshments will be served in addition to a full cash bar.
Admission to the event is $25. All proceeds from this event will benefit Cotuit Center for the Arts and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) Cape Cod
