Award-winning comedian Nancy Witter and her special guests Rick and Tom, owners of the Captain David Kelley House in Centerville offer a Mother’s Day extravaganza that is better than breakfast in bed. This evening of comedy, music, mayhem, and surprises is the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day, or as Witter calls it, “the most disappointing day of the year.”
Rick and Tom will give the ladies a taste of what the infamous “Great Scone Wars” between Tom, whose alter-ego is Tom Scones, and Rick, who thinks his winning recipes make him the “The Scone Ranger.” “Surprises abound!” said Witter.
Witter is a nationally renowned, award-winning stand-up comedian, an NYU-certified Life Coach, and the author of the book, “Who’s Better than Me? A Guide to Living Happily Ever After.” She performs at comedy venues in New York City and throughout the country, including a recent performance at the Nantucket Comedy Festival. The New York Times described Witter as having “a razor sharp wit,” and Backstage Magazine named her to their list of "Comedy Best Bets."
Witter has won three New York City MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Awards for “Outstanding Female Comedian” and a MAC Award for her one-woman show “Dignity Check... Please.” She was one of five finalists on Nick at Nite’s “Search for the Funniest Mom in America” in 2005. Soon after, she teamed up with two other finalists, and they toured the country for five years with their hit comedy show “Mama’s Night Out.”
Tickets are $30, $25 for balcony seating. There is a $2 discount for seniors and veterans, and a $5 discount for members.
