Press Release: "Piece-by-Piece IV" Installation and Reception

Piece-by-Piece IV is a collaborative project involving more than 140 artists working Separately – yes separately - to create a single large-scale artwork. And these artists have no idea what the final piece will look like until the installation.

Each artist received a 15” x 15” blank panel along with a three-inch square section randomly selected from an iconic painting. Is it part of a Monet, a Matisse, a Picasso? The artists, using any medium, must replicate their part of the puzzle onto their 15”x15” panel.

On June 15^th, the 140 separate pieces will be joined together to form an artwork of grand proportion: 12.5 feet high by 17.5 feet wide. Only then will the artists and the attendees find out whose masterpiece has been created.

All 140 panels will be available for purchase for $100 each (50% goes to CCA, 50% to the artist).

Piece-by-Piece IV runs from June 15^th to July 28^th.
