Synopsis
A group of university professors gather for a going away party as one of the group has unexpectedly resigned. As they try to get him to explain why he is doing this, a hypothetical situation is put forth. As they have done on other occasions, they proceed to discuss this hypothetical each from their own disciplines. Within a short time the topic ceases to be hypothetical. How each reacts and the consequences make up the rest of the play.
