Art Bus
The Art Bus is a retrofitted school bus classroom that “pops-up” outdoors at local schools and community events to increase access to hands-on creative experiences.
From baseball to Bandstand, the Art Bus outreach program at Cotuit Center for the Arts is rocking and popping all over Cape Cod! Not only have over 5500 children, teens, and adults participated in programming in since 2021, but innumerable folks have enjoyed the bus in local parades, Cotuit Kettleers baseball games and other community events. At concerts and theatrical productions outside our art center. And at schools Cape-wide. They created art, helped decorate the bus, and walked with the bus pumping out music for all to enjoy. What are you waiting for! We have the Art Bus! We have the crafts! All we need is you!
The Art Bus is currently offering pilot programming free-of-cost to elementary schools within 25 miles of the Center that receive schoolwide Title I funding.
We are proud to support the creativity of students at our partnering schools: M.E. Small Elementary, Hyannis West Elementary, and Barnstable United Elementary School
The Art Bus offers seasonal family days at the Cotuit Center for the Arts and in local community centers. Family Days provide kids and their grownups the opportunity to connect with creative prompts and art materials.
To ensure the long-term financial sustainability of Art Bus initiatives and provide access to those traditionally underserved by arts-based programs, we seek to vary and expand our support from a variety of granting organizations, private donors, community foundations, and local corporations.
