Class Description

This Beyond Beginner Guitar class is designed for players who’ve gained proficiency with the basics and are ready to expand their skills with confidence.
Students will learn more advanced chords, strumming patterns, and techniques while building solid rhythm and musicality.
Through song-based learning, participants will gain the tools they need to play more challenging music and continue progressing on their guitar journey.

Prerequisites:

The ability to comfortably tune your guitar, form and switch somewhat smoothly between basic G, C, D and Em chords, and play a simple strum pattern or two. 

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Expand their chord vocabulary to include chords like F alternatives, 4 ways to play a G chord, bar chords and others!
• Develop more varied and complex strumming patterns
• Improve fretting hand strength and dexterity for cleaner chord changes and less buzzing
• Gain experience with basic fingerpicking patterns and reading simple tablature (TAB).
• Play and sing along with a wider variety of songs in different genres.
• You'll be ready to join the Cotuit Guitar Circle / Monday's at 12:30 with confidence to spare.
