Class Description
A drum circle is a communal gathering of people playing percussion instruments together, often in a circular formation. It is a Rhythmic collaboration and improvisational musical experience, welcoming people of all ages and musical abilities. The primary goal is to share rhythm and connect with one another.
The circle typically starts with a basic, steady rhythm, sometimes called the "heartbeat". From there, participants layer their own improvised rhythms, creating a new composition every time inspiration strikes.
The key part of the experience is listening and responding to the other players. There are no "wrong notes," and each person's contribution is valued. Come play in a relaxed environment where the rules are open to interpretation!
No experience necessary. Open to all.
Bring all manner of drums, percussion, whatever you have! If you don't have we have some provided for you to play.
