Performance: Aug 8 at 12pm on the Outdoor Stage
Class Description
Summer Theater Lab is back this August with another wacky, fun-packed two-week high-energy riff on pop culture! This years show announcement will be: Wet Side Story! Students will have a blast exploring acting, costume-making, dance, improv, scriptwriting, prop-making, mask-making, and more!
Led by the crack team who brought you the very memorable performance in 2023 of Wizard of Cod, and the arguably brilliant Clamalot in 2022, student players will dive in and create a ridiculously entertaining seaside spoof with theater educator Ed O'Toole (BHS and the Center's Camp Shakespeare) and dance teacher Susan Mendoza Friedman (founder of Dancing for a Cure).
Pack a brown-bag lunch and a water bottle and come prepared to move, play, create, invent, learn, and laugh on the Center's brand new outdoor stage (or inside the Black Box in bad weather).
Summer Theater Lab will culminate in a 1-hour presentation for friends and family on the last day of class.
