The Flood: A Bonus Years Story

How do you live when you know the end of your world is coming?

Join award-winning storyteller Jason Mellin in the second part of his Bonus Years duology as he heads to the drowned ghost towns of Quabbin in the Swift River Valley. He journeys back to visit those people who woke up one morning to learn that -in less than ten years time- everything they knew would be drowned under 400 billion gallons so people they’d never met from across the Commonwealth could have drinking water.

Mellin, a director, poet, and performer, pulls from his own experience with bipolar disorder to connect the remarkable story of the drowned towns of Quabbin to his and our own experiences of learning how to survive when your world is falling apart. The series is inspired by the precarity of life as we know it, and the great fortune we have to be able to experience such pain, joy, hope, and love while we are here.

Every performance of The Bonus Years stories are improvised live by Mellin, ensuring no two nights are ever the same.
