The Mystical Nature of Our Natural World: A Book Talk with authors Virginia Ryan and Mary Petiet!

Cape Cod authors Virginia Ryan and Mary Petiet will discuss the mystical qualities present in the natural world around us in a conversation about their books on Sunday, November 1 from 1pm to 3pm at Cotuit Center for the Arts.

Virginia Ryan's debut novel, The Healer of Corky Row, follows a Celtic healer's mystical journey navigating the deep currents of family, tradition, and survival amid a rapidly changing America.

Mary Petiet is the author of Moon Tide: Cape Cod Poems and the novel Wash Ashore. She is the founder of Sea Crow Press.

In their books, the authors explore how different cultures around the world and on Cape Cod celebrate rites and rituals this time of year, marking the "thinning of the veil" between the spiritual and physical worlds. They ask what these ancient traditions have to say to us now. And inquire about what we might discover when we look at the natural world through their cultural lenses.
