Twisted takes its cue from Broadway Backwards, the now-iconic NYC concert that flips the script on musical theatre by having performers sing songs written for a different gender. What began as a grassroots event in 2006 has grown into a beloved tradition—and at Cotuit Center for the Arts, we’ve taken that spark and run with it.
Our version of Twisted expands the idea beyond Broadway, pulling from across the musical spectrum—pop, rock, and theatre—to create a night that’s as surprising as it is entertaining. The result is a one-night-only event where perspective is everything, expectations get turned inside out, and every song lands in a fresh, unexpected way.
Featuring a lineup of Cotuit favorites, Twisted brings together:
Alex Valentine, Annie Jones, Beau Jackett, Bridget Williams, David Kuehn, Gemma Kite, Isabeau Miller, John Weltman, Kate Pazakis, Louisa Gould, Matthew Levesque, Meghan Richardson, Melanie Singer, Paul Richardson, Randy Doyle, Rebecca Riley, Sam Bohmfalk, Scott Wahle, Shelley West, Steve Koglin, Susanna Creel, Tedi Marsh, and Wil Moser—backed by the incredible musicians Misao Koyama, Michael Dunford, Andy Troyanos, and Rich Hill.
Funny, poignant, a little daring—and always a crowd favorite—Twisted invites you to hear the songs you love from a completely different point of view.
