Out of this World: An Open Juried Exhibition

Out of This World invited artists to explore the vast, the strange, and the wondrous—works that feel unbound by ordinary experience. This juried exhibition celebrates art that reaches beyond the familiar, whether through cosmic imagery, speculative futures, surreal environments, altered realities, or moments of profound awe.

Artists were encouraged to interpret “out of this world” broadly. Selected works reference outer space, science fiction, astronomy, and celestial phenomena, but also works that feel otherworldly in mood or concept: dreamscapes, uncanny forms, visionary narratives, or perspectives that stretch perception and imagination. The exhibition embraces curiosity, experimentation, and the thrill of encountering something unexpected.

Running alongside Lauren Lortie’s 10 UFOs, the exhibition creates a dynamic dialogue between juried works and Lortie’s playful, provocative exploration of unidentified forms and otherworldly presence. Together, the exhibitions invite viewers to question perception, embrace curiosity, and revel in art that defies easy explanation.
